This consultation has now closed.

The responses to this consultation are currently under review. Details of the outcome will be published here in due course.

Original Consultation

Ceredigion County Council is seeking comments in relation to Ceredigion's Welsh Language Promotion Strategy 2024-2029. The consultation will take place over a period of five weeks up to 31st August 2024.

The Strategy sets out a clear vision on how the Council, working in collaboration with other partner organisations, will promote the Welsh language and facilitate the wider use of Welsh within the local area.

"We want to see the Welsh language and Welshness as belonging to all in Ceredigion and a source of pride amongst all residents of the county."

The aim of this strategy is to maintain and promote the Welsh language in all possible walks of life. This Strategy is unable to include all the things that need to be done to ensure that the Welsh language thrives in Ceredigion; however, the aim is to be as realistic as possible, in line with that which can be achieved through the Ceredigion Bilingual Futures Language Forum.

The draft Strategy can be read here: Ceredigion Welsh Language Promotion Strategy 2024-29
