Welsh Local Area Energy Planning - Public Engagement Energy Survey
This consultation ended 31/03/2024.
Local Area Energy Plans (LAEP) have now been created for Ceredigion and Powys. The work is facilitated by Growing Mid Wales. Both Ceredigion and Powys County Councils have now endorsed our respective Local Area Energy Plans.
This consultation gathered people's views on the energy transition and will help to inform the delivery of our Local Area Energy Plans.
More information and regular updates are available on the Growing Mid Wales website Energy & Net Zero - English - Growing Mid Wales
Original Consultation
We would like to understand your current energy and transport use and your future plans.
What is Local Area Energy Planning (LAEP)?
It’s a plan to identify the most effective route towards meeting the national net zero target while considering local needs and priorities.
Please see a video produced by Welsh Government for more information on LAEP.
As part of the planning process, we want to understand your current energy and transport use and your future plans.
Our public engagement energy survey seeks to understand your opinions on:
- Current energy and transport use
- Low-carbon energy technologies
- Low-carbon heating systems
- Sustainable travel options
All the Local Area Energy Plans in Wales will be completed by March 2024.
These will then be used to inform the creation of a National Energy Plan for Wales, mapping out future energy demand and supply for all parts of the country.
Your opinion matters to highlight potential future actions for local council, electricity and gas network providers, and other local parties, aiding us to move to more environmentally friendly sources of energy.
