Ceredigion Youth Service – Privacy Notice
The purposes for which we use your personal data
Ceredigion Youth Service is part of Ceredigion County Council. We support young people aged 11–25 through a range of services including youth clubs, school-based support, wellbeing programmes, volunteering, and personal development opportunities. In order to carry out these functions, we must process personal data as set out in the notice below.
Your information will be used to:
- Help you access youth services and activities
- Provide support tailored to your needs
- Keep you safe during our activities, services and events
- Monitor and improve our services to develop future services and activities
- Promote and market our services locally, regionally and nationally where required
The lawful basis for the processing of your information is:
- Article 6 e) processing is necessary to perform a task in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority
Where special category data is processed, the lawful basis shall be:
- Article 9 (2) g) reasons of substantial public interest
The substantial public interest processing condition shall be:
- Statutory and government purposes
- Equality of opportunity or treatment
The enactments or rules of law relied upon are:
- Learning and Skills Act 2000
- Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014
- Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015
We have legal duties under the Learning and Skills Act 2000 to encourage, enable or assist young people to participate effectively in education or training, to take advantage of opportunities for employment, and to participate effectively and responsibly in the life of their communities.
What if you do not provide personal data?
If you do not give us the information we need when we ask for it, this may result in not being unable to provide services to you, such as access to our activity programmes and support services.

- Religious or philosophical beliefs
- Information about your sex life or sexual orientation

In respect of the use of specific systems in the Authority’s Microsoft Estate, your data may be subject to international transfer.
