Ceredigion People's Panel Privacy Notice
Ceredigion County Council, as a public authority, is required to consider how the decisions it makes will impact all groups within the community it serves. In order to do this, the Council has established a People’s Panel, which processes personal data as set out in this notice.
Your information will be used to:
We collect equality monitoring information to ensure diversity and inclusion in the People’s Panel, comply with the Equality Act 2010, and improve our practices.
Following collection, your data will be anonymised and used for:
• Reporting aggregated statistics
• Ensuring that the panel reflects the population of Ceredigion in terms of age, gender and other demographic characteristics
The lawful basis for the processing of your information is:
UKGDPR Article 6 (e) processing is necessary to undertake a task in the public interest vested in the controller.
The People’s Panel enables the Authority to ensure that it is complying with its Public Sector Equality Duty as set out in the Equalities Act 2010. Additional legislation includes the Well-Being of Future Generations (Wales) Act.
Where special category data is processed, the lawful basis shall be:
UKGDPR Article 9 (2) (g) processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest.

The public interest processing conditions relied upon are 6 (statutory and government purposes) and 8 (equality of opportunity or treatment).
By creating a People's Panel, we are engaging with a group of residents in Ceredigion who are interested in contributing to the democratic process. We have a duty to seek the views of residents when implementing policy changes - this is an extension of our current work to improve the way we Engage and Consult.
If you do not give us the information we need when we ask for it you will not be able to join the Ceredigion People's Panel.
