Supported Lodgings
Could you provide a safe, supportive space in your home for a young person? Could you guide and mentor a young person to live independently? Supported lodgings Ceredigion are looking for hosts to accommodate young people between the ages of 16 and 25.
As a host you are there to guide the young person and support them to develop the skills they need to live independently. They could be leaving care, no longer able to live at home or an unaccompanied asylum seeker. You will be matched with a young person to ensure a smooth lodging experience for all. Full training and support are provided.
Hosting a young person will not only benefit them but you as the host knowing you will have enabled them to be set with skills for life, helping young people to enter the adult world prepared. You may be involved with supporting and guiding a young person to gain confidence in:
- Accessing Education
- Cooking
- Cleaning
- Budgeting
- Using public transport
- Gardening and maintenance
- Social skills
- Being there to listen
