fosteringWe are Foster Wales Ceredigion.  We are part of the national network of all 22 Welsh Local Authority fostering services, working together to build better futures for local children. The Foster Wales Ceredigion team is your local fostering provider and support network.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we’re dedicated to working as a team with foster carers to help build brighter futures for local children in the Ceredigion area. We help them stay in their familiar local environments, when it’s right for them.

Foster carers come from a variety of backgrounds and with varying degrees of experience.  You do not need to have experience of looking after children to become a foster carer and we welcome enquiries from people whether they are single or have a partner and are working or unemployed.

There are many different types of fostering, ranging from long term to very short term (even just one weekend a month), emergency or respite placements, for children and young people aged from birth to 18 years.  We also provide support to young people following their 18th birthday to help them prepare to live independently.

As a foster carer with Foster Wales Ceredigion, you will receive:

  • Generous financial allowances
  • Additional allowances at birthdays and religious holidays plus an annual holiday allowance
  • Additional allowance for being on an emergency rota
  • Continuous service allowance
  • A dedicated team of experienced fostering staff along with the support of a Foster Carer Peer mentor based in Ceredigion
  • Local Support Groups
