Businesses in Tregaron, Llandysul and Cardigan celebrated St David's Day this year by taking part in a window decorating competition. The competition was organised by Cered: Menter Iaith Ceredigion.

Cered’s main aim was to create a buzz on St David's Day by bringing a sea of colour, creativity and visual Welshness to our town centres in Ceredigion.

The competition was an effective way of engaging with businesses in our communities to promote the support Cered can provide to businesses such as the free translation contact line, Helo Blod.

Steffan Rees, Cered Team Leader, said: "It was encouraging to see so many businesses across the towns taking part in the competition again this year and the task of choosing the winners was very difficult. Ceredigion businesses are proud of their Welshness and have interpreted St David's Day in a very creative and diverse ways."

The windows were judged on their originality and their reflection of the spirit of the festival and of Welshness.

The winning businesses are:

  • Cardigan – Yum Yums
  • Aberystwyth – Sense
  • Llandysul – James Jones Son and Francis
  • Tregaron – New Medical Hall
