I met with Charlotte Lewis from the Centre For Ageing Better last week to find out more about joining the UK Network of Age Friendly Communities. They have a micro grant programme which supports communities to celebrate Age Without Limits Day, this year on 11th of June 2025. Please be sure to mention that Ceredigion’s Age Friendly Lead has spoken with Charlotte Lewis and that we are in the process of joining on your application.

This year the theme is Celebrate Ageing. Challenge Ageism. We want to celebrate the value and contributions of older people in society and share people’s diverse experiences of growing older. When we celebrate ageing, together, on the day, we will challenge the negative beliefs and actions connected to older age.

We’re offering grants of up to £500, plus an additional £150 for accessibility improvements, to help bring your ideas to life. Whether thinking about ageing is your group’s bread and butter or the Age Without Limits Day is your first chance to engage with the issue of ageism, we are excited to see how you interpret the theme and mark the day in a way that works for you and your community.

Last year we were blown away by the creativity communities brought to marking the day - from art exhibitions and photography competitions to intergenerational skills sharing events. Read more about last year’s events by checking out this blog on the Centre for Ageing Better website and visiting the Host an event page on the Age Without Limits website.

Please note this grant is only available to community groups and voluntary sector organisations within areas who are members of the UK Network of Age-friendly Communities.

The deadline to apply is 5pm on the 10th of February 2025.

For more information on the Age Without Limits campaign, eligibility and criteria for the micro-grants and information on how to apply, please visit the Age Without Limits Day page on the Age Without Limits website.
