Community Transport

Ceredigion County Council is passionately committed to ensuring all residents of Ceredigion are given adequate mobility support to lead active and fulfilling lives.

We work with a number of organisations to ensure transport is available for groups active within Ceredigion and residents with mobility problems.

Dolen Teifi Community Transport

It is now some 10 years since Llandysul & Pont Tyweli Ymlaen acquired the use of the community bus from Ceredigion County Council, and as one of the Ymlaen projects Dolen Teifi Community Transport was set up.

Since the initial set up, Dolen Teifi now manage 6 mini buses as well as 2 Cady cars which are used to carry wheelchairs as well as 4 passengers, the service now extends to both Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.

During this time over 80 groups have used the bus for various activities, and have enabled many local residents to be able to access places who otherwise would not have been able to leave their local surroundings.

A number of volunteers have taken up the MiDAS training, and because of the ongoing demand by volunteers for training, Dolen Teifi now have 3 qualified MiDAS Driver Assessors who are able to train other volunteers to become MiDAS drivers.
