Ysgol Bro Teifi is celebrating another outstanding year on the sporting field, with pupils achieving success at the highest levels across a wide range of sports throughout Ceredigion, Dyfed and Wales during the 2025-26 season.

Hockey was among the school's most successful sports, with the under-18 and under-16 teams crowned Ceredigion Champions. The under-14 and under-12 teams went a step further, securing both Ceredigion and Dyfed titles and demonstrating the strength of hockey throughout the school.

Success also continued in girls' sport, with the under-18 and under-16 netball teams winning county championships. Adding to the list of honours, the under-13 girls' athletics team and under-13 girls' football team also claimed Ceredigion titles in their respective sports.

In girls' rugby, the under-12 team enjoyed an exceptional season, winning the Ceredigion Championship and finishing runners-up in the Scarlets region. The under-18 team reached the Welsh Schools Cup final, finishing as runners-up in Wales, an achievement that reflects the squad's commitment and high standards.

The boys' rugby teams also enjoyed a highly successful year. The under-13 team became Ceredigion Champions and Ceredigion Sevens Champions. The under-14 team won the Ceredigion Championship and reached the last 32 of the Welsh Cup, while the under-15 team finished runners-up in the county and reached the same stage of the national competition. The highlight of the season was the success of the under-18 team, who won the Ceredigion Championship before being crowned Welsh Schools Plate Champions.

Beyond the traditional playing field, the school's skiing team also achieved significant success, finishing runners-up in the Welsh Schools Regional Competition.

Several pupils also received special individual recognition. Dion Siencyn was selected to represent the North West Wales under-14 team. In hockey, Gwenno Mills, Marged Dafis, Lois Evans and Hâf Hughes were selected for the West Wales Hockey Squad, with Gwenno also representing South West Wales.

In athletics, Amelia Williams achieved an excellent second-place finish in the Welsh Schools Cross Country Championships.

In rugby, Gwion Davies, Iestyn Evans, Elis Evans, Llew Thomas and Gwilym Williams were selected for West Scarlets and Scarlets squads, reflecting the high standard of talent developing within the school. Elis Evans was also selected for the Wales under-17 training squad and the Wales under-18 men's development squad.

Reflecting on the season, Ysgol Bro Teifi Headteacher, Mr Gareth Evans, said: "We are extremely proud of our pupils' achievements this year.
