Help shape the future of childcare provision in Ceredigion
Ceredigion County Council is required by Welsh Government to carry out a Childcare Sufficiency Assessment (CSA) every five years to understand whether local childcare meets the needs of families across the county.
As part of this work, the Council is inviting parents, carers, employers, children and young people to share their views on childcare provision for 0–17 year olds. A range of surveys will be available during September and October.
The Council wants to hear about your experiences of using childcare registered with Care Inspectorate Wales, as well as unregistered childcare such as nannies or after-school clubs. We also want to understand any barriers families face when trying to access local childcare.
Councillor Wyn Thomas, Cabinet Member for Schools, Lifelong Learning and Skills, with responsibility for Childcare, said: “It is vital that parents, carers, employers and other stakeholders, along with children and young people have a meaningful opportunity to share their views. Their feedback will help identify where gaps in childcare provision exist and what support families need now and in the future. Ceredigion County Council will work with appropriate partners to develop a five-year strategic plan that responds to the issues raised and supports a suitable, comprehensive childcare service for families across the county.”
