Residents invited to social care and nursing provision drop-in engagement session

Residents are invited to the first of a series of drop-in engagement sessions exploring social care and nursing provision in the north of the county.

The key aim of the sessions is to develop a proposal that will meet the current and future care and support needs of the population in Ceredigion.

The first drop-in session will take place on Tuesday, 25 March, 2025 at Canolfan y Morlan, Aberystwyth between 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

The focus of this session will be the Hafan y Waun site and is an opportunity for residents to review conceptual ideas and for your voice to be heard as part of our planning and scoping of any future schemes.

We are keen to hear your thoughts on the following:

  • nursing and residential care.
  • dementia nursing and residential care.
  • respite provision.
  • supported living for individuals living with physical and learning disabilities.

Councillor Alun Williams, Cabinet Member for Through Age Wellbeing, said: “There’s been a great deal of local interest in Hafan y Waun since the Council took it over. We’ve already done a huge amount to upgrade the building and we’re now looking at ways we can use it to improve the all-round social care and nursing provision in the north of the County. To help us do this we’d like the input of local people to help shape the development of future services and make sure they meet the needs of current and future residents."

There will be an opportunity to ask questions to Council staff regarding current and possible future provision.
