Ceredigion Youth Service launches new funding opportunity for Voluntary Youth Organisations

Ceredigion Youth Service has launched an exciting new funding initiative designed to support voluntary youth organisations across the county in delivering impactful, youth-led projects.

Backed by £40,000 in available grants supported by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Funding, Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office and Welsh Government Youth Support Grant, the scheme is shaped directly by the voices of young people in Ceredigion, who voted for their top priorities through the ‘Rhoi Dy Farn’ youth consultation.

Projects are invited that focus on key themes including mental health and wellbeing, promoting the Welsh language, safer spaces, supporting job opportunities and preparing young people for the challenges of the modern world.

Gethin Jones, Corporate Manager for Ceredigion Youth Service, commented: “This opportunity reflects the dynamic voices of young people in our county. They’ve told us what matters to them, and now we’re inviting the voluntary sector to collaborate in turning those priorities into action. Our goal is to fund projects that are inclusive, innovative and sustainable, and that will leave a lasting impact in communities across Ceredigion.

The funding opportunity opens today, Tuesday 15 July 2025 and closes on Tuesday 12 August 2025. All applications must be submitted via the eTenderWales platform:

Online support will be available to help organisations register and apply on the following dates:

·                Tuesday 29 July, 10:00–11:00am

·                Friday 1 August, 13:00–14:00

Councillor Wyn Thomas, Ceredigion's Cabinet Member for Schools, Lifelong Learning and Skills added:

“We are proud to support young people in shaping the future of their communities. This initiative is rooted in their experiences, their ideas, and their aspirations. I encourage voluntary youth organisations to apply and work with us to deliver meaningful opportunities for our next generation.”

The grant panel will include young people and key stakeholders to ensure transparency and relevance throughout the process. Successful applicants will be announced in early September.
