Performance reports highlights Council’s achievements

Ceredigion County Council has recently published its performance measures against its Corporate Well-being Objectives on its website. This allows the Public to see how the Council performs against its targets, and in some cases how it performs in comparison to other Local Authorities across Wales.

The report shows a summary of the Council’s performance across a range of services, for 2023-24.

The measures demonstrate how well our services are performing in meeting the needs of service users and their efficiency and value for money.

Some of Ceredigion’s key successes for 2023-24 are:

Carers and community support: 3,529 individuals across the county received support from the Council exceeding the target of 2,800 people.

Warm hubs and foodbanks: Residents could access 63 Warm Welcome Spaces and foodbanks in community venues across the county run by volunteers and supported by the Council in partnership with Ceredigion Association Voluntary Organisations.

Physical activity programmes: 167,503 attendances to fitness programmes at Council-owned leisure facilities and the new Wellbeing Centre.

Free school meals: The rollout of free schools meals to all Primary School pupils in Ceredigion by September 2023.

Waste recycling: 71.69% of waste reused, recycled or composted, above the national target of 64%

Estyn: 100% of Ceredigion’s schools and non-maintained settings inspected by Estyn did not require any follow-up action. Ceredigion received an excellent Estyn inspection report with regard to how well it delivers its education services.

Fly-tipping: The average number of working days taken to clear fly-tipping incidents was 2.42 days, and the target of 5 days was met.

Leader of Ceredigion County Council, Councillor Bryan Davies who has responsibility for Performance said: “These measures allow residents and stakeholders to see how we are performing, including in comparison to other local authorities in Wales. These are excellent results and show that we are performing well, despite the pressures on budgets and the increasing demands made on Council services. Our efforts are largely due to the hard work and dedication of our staff who provide these services to our residents and customers.”
