From 13 May 2024, Hywel Dda University Health Board officers will use part of Canolfan Rheidol, the Council’s office in Aberystywth.

Following the implementation of Ceredigion County Council’s Hybrid Working Strategy and Hybrid Policy, there are significant opportunities to reconfigure and make better use of the Council’s office space to facilitate other public services by working with partner organisations.

Leader of Ceredigion County Council, Councillor Bryan Davies, said: “By adapting the way we work, we can enable the Council to deliver modern services that will enhance the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of the people of Ceredigion, which reinforces our priorities as set out in our Corporate Strategy for 2022-2027. We’re glad to be able to work with our partners at Hywel Dda, providing their staff with office accommodation that will enable the Health Board to invest and develop new facilities at Bronglais Hospital. This decision is also fantastic for Ceredigion’s economy, as it provides a steady income stream for the empty spaces in the offices.”

Matthew Willis, General Manager of Hywel Dda University Health Board’s Bronglais Hospital, said: “We are delighted to be able to extend our partnership arrangements with Ceredigion County Council to use space available at Canolfan Rheidol to provide accommodation for Health Board staff who are currently based at Bronglais, but whose roles are not reliant upon being at the Hospital.

“Modern, high quality office accommodation will be provided for staff moving to Canolfan Rheidol, and the space released at Bronglais will enable space for staff moves on-site that are required for the commencement of the building works for the Chemotherapy/Oncology Day Unit. 60 desks have been commissioned and agile working arrangements are being established so that staff working in community settings will also be able to use the space provided.”

Other recent changes to former office space includes the Penmorfa Centre for Independent Living that opened to the public in Aberaeron last month. In the Centre, there is a dedicated AskSARA room, housing adaptations and mobility equipment to carer support, and much more.
