Ceredigion’s off-street parking places proposals available to review

Ceredigion County Council is proposing to make changes to its Off-Street Parking Places Order.


The Ceredigion County Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2025 is being proposed on the grounds of ensuring the efficient management of Ceredigion County Council Parking Places which fall under the Order. This includes, but is not limited to, simplifying and rationalising charging arrangements, ensuring Parking Places are appropriate for the type of vehicle / user permitted, increasing capacity, incentivising the purchase of parking permits, extending the existing exemptions for Blue Badge Holders, reflecting technological changes and ensuring accuracy and relevancy of the provisions of the Order underpinning arrangements at the Parking Places.

Residents are encouraged to read the draft order and supplementary information, which can be found at Proposed Ceredigion County Council (Off-Street - Ceredigion County Council and, if they have any objections to the proposals, to either complete the online form to submit their reasons for the objection (if your response will exceed the maximum text character limit please send your response to clic@ceredigion.gov.uk using the Subject: Public Consultation - Proposed Ceredigion County Council (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2025)) or send a letter setting out the reasons for the objections to Legal Services, c/o Post Room, Ceredigion County Council, Canolfan Rheidol, Rhodfa Padarn, Llanbadarn Fawr, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, SY23 3UE to be received by no later than 4 December 2024.

Councillor Keith Henson, Ceredigion’s Cabinet member responsible for Highways and Environmental said: “The proposals are put forward with the aim of improving the overall offering to customers, supporting wider proposed changes to parking related policy and assist the Council in achieving a balanced budget. I’d encourage residents to take the time to read the proposals and if they have any objections, to respond using the methods listed on the website.”

The draft order and supplementary information may also be examined at the offices of Ceredigion County Council at Penmorfa, Aberaeron; Canolfan Alun R Edwards, Queen's Square, Aberystwyth; Council Offices, Morgan Street, Cardigan; and Council Offices, Market Street, Lampeter, during normal office hours.
