Meet the Team
Rhian Owen
Team Manager
I am the team manager for the Employability Support Team in Ceredigion. The Employability Support Team works alongside Welsh Government to deliver the Communities for work + project. Within my role I work closely with my team and other partners to ensure we offer a bespoke package of support for Ceredigion residents to re-enter the labour market.
I worked for many years for the Department of Work and Pension before returning to higher education to obtain a degree in Education. Once graduated I became the NEET coordinator for Ceredigion where I focused on supporting young people with education employment or training.
Although my job has moved on from directly working with our participants, I still feel very proud of them all when they achieve and sustain employment.
Emma Daniel

Supporting with preparation, development, monitoring, and evaluation of the employability projects within Ceredigion. I also working closely with the entire team, to monitor the performance of the projects and ensure that all quality procedures are adhered to when delivering the support.
My educational background in Criminology, combined with my experience of working directly with vulnerable individuals, has given me valuable insights into the positive impact of having career goals and sustainable employment can have on an individual's well-being and life prospects.
With these experiences and understanding, my aim is to advocate for best practices and deliver the best possible services to the residents of Ceredigion.

I have worked at Ceredigion County Council Since April 2016 and have worked in various roles in supporting young people to reach their full potential and to become active contributing members in society. I was appointed as the Employability, Engagement and Progression Support Officer for 16-24 year olds as part of the Communities for work+ within the Employment Support Team in December 2022 and within my role I enjoy working with various individuals, stakeholders and partners to enhance employment outcomes for young people in Ceredigion.
I have previously worked on an EU funded project which supported young people with a bespoke learning package delivered externally from schools for pre 16 individuals which enabled them to gain a qualification to support them with gaining employment post-16. I also currently work within another service with young people that are members of ‘Aberystwyth Ambassadors’ and empower them to lead on projects within the community.

We will take a step-by-step approach and you can reach out to me at any time. No question is a silly question!

Being a Community Mentor brings so much for individuals and reduces the barriers individuals may have on a daily basis, i.e. childcare, travel which inhibits them to their full potential on finding better paid work. We work closely alongside them, and support their individual needs throughout, case by case.
With a background in the NHS having worked with young individuals, and families, and supporting them in their healthcare pathway. This transfers to the role as a Community Mentor as we work closely to ensure the individuals goals are met.
I enjoy meeting new individuals, and listening to their story, and backgrounds. Overcoming their own challenges, and anxieties, it is incredibly rewarding finding a work outcome once they are happy in.
