Severn Wye Community Advice Scheme

Is it difficult to pay your energy bills? Are you warm enough at home? Severn Wye are a sustainability charity working mainly in Wales and the English border counties.

Funded by the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme, Severn Wye offers free support to Ceredigion residents including:

  • Fuel debt support
  • Carbon monoxide advice
  • Advice on Priority Services Register
  • Energy Efficiency and bill advice
  • Liaising with your supplier

Fuel vouchers are available for individuals and families who cannot afford to top up their prepayment meters. Severn Wye can also help those not connected to mains gas, or those relying on other fuels like oil, LPG, or coal. In addition, Severn Wye can access grants to provide a one-off payment to cover urgent costs such as food, gas, electricity, or emergency travel for those experiencing extreme financial hardship, job loss, or waiting for their first benefits payment.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by home energy and need someone on your side, you can email Severn Wye at communityadvice@severnwye.org.uk to arrange a confidential appointment or call Severn Wye’s team on 0800 170 1600 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm to see if a community-based adviser can offer you a free home visit. You can also visit Severn Wye’s Advice and support page to complete a contact form.
