Procurement Law is Changing on 24th February 2025 – Suppliers Are You Ready?

The Procurement Act 2023 will go live on 24 February 2025. If you are a potential supplier to public sector organisations make sure you are prepared.

The Welsh Government has prepared guidance specifically for suppliers. Please visit the Welsh Government website and scroll down for the section called Information for Suppliers. You will also be able to access from this site the UK Government Transforming Public Procurement Knowledge Drops – targeted short videos for suppliers including specific videos for SME/VCSEs.

Webinars for Suppliers and Other Interested Parties

To support readiness for the new regime, UK Government Cabinet Office are running two webinars for suppliers and other interested parties in January. These sessions will focus primarily on what the key changes are, how the central digital platform will work (featuring a live demonstration), and will be an opportunity to ask questions on your own preparations for go-live.

Both sessions will be the same, so you only need to sign up for one using the links below:

To make it easy for suppliers to find information, there is a dedicated supplier information page on the Government's website. Recordings of the webinars will be available here for those unable to attend.

Central Digital Platform

Before bidding for public contracts, you will need to register with the Central Digital Platform. Registration will not open until 24 February. There is no hurry to register but you will need to have done so before bidding for a contract.

Wales

Suppliers should be aware that there are some differences to the legislation in Wales and we will still be using Sell2Wales to publish our procurement notices, which will automatically publish on the new Central Digital Platform.
