IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Following a decision made by Elected Members on the 29th February 2024, the authority no longer provides a pest control service.
There is no legal duty for a local authority to provide such a service and in common with many other local authorities, we have had to make difficult but necessary choices about which frontline services to preserve.
Under the provisions of The Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949 owners and/or occupiers are responsible for keeping their own land free from rats/mice, not the Council.
We advise you to contact a private pest control company rather than tackle the problem directly yourself.
